a new team

They had a great team this year, and they definitely underperformed. I think more international experience would help them, either by having more of their players playing in the European leagues and/or more international aspect to the mexican league. I know they play in the Copa de Libertadores and other Latin American tournaments, but I think there should be more interaction with MLS and European teams too. I lived in Mexico for a while, and I was surprised about how much people got into the European and Argentine leagues. I think there is a general feeling in Mexico that their league and national team isn't near the talent level of European and South American soccer, which it may not be, but not nearly as dramatic as many make it out to be (Chivas or America could be competitive with almost any club team in the world any give year). It's got to be hard to play against these teams when the general feeling in your country is that you don't have a chance.

Mexico arguably has the best soccer fans in the world, and the talent is definitely there. I think they're at a big disadvantage being in CONCACAF because the only real competition they have is the US, and this doesn't give them the competiton to develop experience like European and South American teams. I would love to see them win a World Cup someday, the country would put every other world cup celebration in history to shame.

Their players need to go play in Europe where the best players in the world play. In Europe there is more competition, and more physical play that you will experience in a World Cup. Mexico's youth teams are some of the best in the world as evidenced by their world championship and their records in majory tournaments like the Dallas Cup where Mexican club teams play the likes of English, Spanish and Italian clubs and the Mexican clubs always do exceptionally well. What happens in between? Is it a lack of motivation where they already have reputations in Mexico and don't have to step their game up so much? You see how well they played against Argentina so they do have the talent. A great coach won't hurt either.

To tell you the truth Mexico is a great just the way it is. We just need a new coach that can handle the team and a person that can line up the lplayers just where there skills are at! We need to have a coach that doesnt have any problems with the players rumors spreaded that LaVolpe had a few problems with Franciso "Kikin" Fonseca!! Mexico its a improved team and it needs better coaching in my opinion!

I think that they need to practice their playmaking a little better. They give away posession too often at very bad times and when they cant always trust their strikers to get the job done all the time, they need to rely on better plays to get behind the defense and use close in shots to score. Teams like Brazil are not so much skill as they are great passing and amazing plays. Mexico should model themselves after teams like that with teamwork.

If you look at brazil or argentina most of their starting 11 play in Europe as mexico only has about 2 or 3 on their whole squad

Learn to play somewhere in Europe, not just a few but the whole team that way we might have a chance next time. And maybe have Hugo Sanchez coach.

They need to come up with a way for Mexicans to get into the states undetected.

Right now Bush and company are using them to distract from their political blunders and thievery.
