Emerald crabs are the safest bet when buying them for a tank with other invertebrates. Even hermit crabs will kill and eat the snails in your tank.

You need to check for compatibility especially if you have croustaceans, sea stars, worms...well anything really. There are some croustaceans that are feed solely little sea stars (my harlequin shrimp). You should decide who you love more and take someone back.

because crabs are preditors. I had one once but I guess sence there were no other animal it could eat it died in 3 days

crabs are aggrissive and terrotioral... they eat what ever come's into the tank that isn't a mate for it.

did you check with pet store or a reference book to see if the two are compatible.might be natural enemies.
