I like how many oversensitive people are on here. Bono works hard to try to make the world a better place, but he has his head up his own *** because if it.
To put it another way, I'm not a fan. You try can make the world a better place, but celebrities like Bono put entirely too much effort into reminding us that their opinions are more important than everyone else's, and also that they are more knowledgable about the problem at hand than people educated in said field.
In conclusion, Bono is a douchebag.

He lectures rich countries for the need to save the poor and starving, yet Bono lives a posh and exorbitant life.
He lectures people without money about saving lives. If I gave 80% of my income to the poor, I would save few if any people and be starving myself, if Bono did, he would save many, and still be a millionaire. And STILL he lives an exorbitant life.
He goes directly to Africa, looks the dying right in the eye, and still doesn't seem to be troubled to return to his mansion and live an exorbitant life.
The question isn't what positive he is doing, he is doing much, the question is of the moral and ethical rationalization of on one hand, being consumed to the point of being frantic to the plight of others starving and dying everyday, and on the other, of being able to turn that off and resume the exorbitant life of a multi-millionaire. I would feel the same if a morbidly obese person scolded me about my diet and exercise!

And here are some starving African's who's life he could be saving: Link 3

Hi Greg
Bono is already history. He is still writing his musical and humanitarian history as you read this. You have the chance to make history as well. All you have to do is be able to detach from your ego, stand up and let your souls voice be heard within the solutional framework to the problems of the human condition.
Bono is using his stature in society to bring the collective attention of the human race onto a global problem that effects us ALL. It effects and affects us on so many levels that we aren't even aware of yet. You put the question up as a joke and to garner attention but really my friend, you are going after the wrong kind of attention. Don't be an a**.

Many, many celebrities have great and wonderful ideas about how to save our planet but only a few who really do anything about the current crisis. If every celebrity would just put their ownselves where their mouths have been we could end world poverty, aids, and maybe even cure the world of all the idiots they have become . The United States has made alot of people millionaires...our own country should not be hungry, without homes,no one should be on welfare, this country is very bountiful but........Bono needs another gig besides playing world advocate.Where is his millions at? I bet not feeding the world.

When I see Bono living like a normal human being and giving all his earnings to help the poor and Africa instead of living in slendor vacationing on the Riviera in his private mansion and not flying in a private jet maybe then I'll listen to what the whiner has to say about helping people.
Till then he is another pathetic attention whore celeb.

History is what the historians write. As soon as I get a chance to write history textbooks-if Bono's not already in any...
I'll be sure and put him in mine.
Seriously...I may get my degrees/certifcations in teaching History and in curriculum and instruction...so don't think I wouldn't put Bono in my books.

Agreed. He does my head in nearly as much as the live8 bloke. Hey, a major political event is going on and we're all at the other end of the country having a party! And guess what, if you click your fingers and wear a white wrist band you can sleep at night in you mega bucks house too! When world events, aid and politics become fashion, people get complacent about them, and no one is really interrogating the issues and asking whether aid is actually the best thing to do.

Bono and his fellow mates have done hundreds of things to help the world.
Maybe if you did as much as he did to raise funds and awareness then you could talk.
