What are the first steps to take when finding out if "You" have precancerous cells?

I assume you mean cervical cancer...
most commonly is a virus called HPV (human papilloma virus).

This is easily screened every 6 months to one year via pap smear.

If they find precancerous cells by pap smear then they do a cone biopsy. This can be done in the doctors office.

I work with a group of oncologist and asked this very same question. They all agreed promiscuity is the #1 cause of cervical cancer. No kidding.
The first step if you have pre-cancerous cells is to have a biopsy. They go in and pinch a sample off and stage the pre-cancerous lesions to tell you if you need further tx.
Do you have genital warts. They are also one of the causes of pre- cancerous and cancerous cervical bx's
Be picky, dont lay down with every guy that comes along.
Use a condom.

the most common is caused from a virus. your male partner may give it to you during unprotected sex.
