I know they are "not the same." Duh. Would I be asking the question if they were? People that get moving violations should be subject to a 3 strikes type of law, IMHO.

For my own part, I expect the authorities to enforce the laws where they have jurisdiction, and for people to treat each other with dignity and respect. I also believe that our society suffers more from a failure of authority to enforce the existing traffic laws than it does from the failure of authorities to secure the borders.

Better yet, how do people who don't respect or uphold the Constitution of the US, or the treaties we have made, expect anyone to do anything? Our word means nothing! Nor does our signature, or those of George Washington and the signers of the Declaration of Independence!

Sounds like you've had it up to here with rude drivers! Of course, you probably already know that one has nothing to do with the other. Have you ever gone over the speed limit, even 1 mile over the posted limit? Do you always signal when you're changing lanes? How about staying 3 car lengths behind the vehicle in front of you? Do you slow down at yellow lights or zip through them? As for repecting our borders, I imagine that if I wanted to go to another country that I wouldn't take the chance of illegally crossing their borders; however, I confess that although I like to consider myself a safe driver, I do not always obey the above mentioned traffic laws either. If I were caught and sited though, I would have no one to blame but myself.

Hun, even tho there "not the same" as has been pointed out. They are still BREAKING THE SAME LAWS OF THE UNITED STATES. And a crime is a crime, its just a matter of degrees of punishment. Morally, you are correct, one is "as bad as the other."

But these people who are screaming about Illegal Immigrants are not even being impacted for the most part by the immigrants. They aren't losing jobs, they aren't being put out on the streets, they aren't losing their hospital beds to them, they just have nothing better to do than scream about others getting the same freedoms they have.

Sad, isn't it? I say "come on over and have a grand life" we should all have it as good as we have it here. Do I agree that they should have emergency care, when Americans don't? Sure, I just believe it should be EXTENDED to Americans too! Why punish innocent mexican children for our ignorance and prejudice?

one is a misdemeanor, one is a felony against the Nation.
it's reasonable to carelessly run a red light, or not wear your seatbelt, however, crossing the border.. that takes planning, and it's not careless..
There are legal ways to get into the states...
