It can, but you had better have no other options. Some locks, like say on a typical bathroom door, you just push it straight in. For most locks, though, you have to manipulate the tumblers. For that you have to study locksmithing, as usual skill trumps hardware.

ha ha a bobby pin and you know the fingernail clippers cleaner thing that folds out yeah use that.... maybe it works for regular locks i know for sure it works on boat locks

It's easy take the paperclip and attach the key to it, then clip it to the inside of your pocket.........

it is hard to do the first time you do it but all you have to do is straghten it out,stick it in, and move it around a little while trying to turn the doorknob
