I know that our politics are different, but I didn't realize there was as significant a cultural difference as there was until I had actually visited the US. What do you think?

I know this is the type of question that draws stupid comments... if you want to state how you think Americans are the best or anything to that extent, please save it for you diary.

Ah ha, I made it sound one sided, basically I mean, I'm just interested in whether or not they seem different. I'm not interested in hearing whether one is better than the other.

I don't understand all the "eh" comments. You guys must know the only Canadians who actually say that! And it is Zed, lol, as far as I'm concerned.

Not at all, except that the Canadians hate Americans, and are cursed with those Quebec folks that want to break off and form their own country.

Of course there is a significant difference, Americans are uneducated Canadians who believe might makes right. With an educated population , a loony tune like George Bush never would have been elected .

People are the same the world over. Its their politics and faith that changes.
I spent four years in the service and litteraly circled the globe before my 21st
birthday. In that time I learned that the more you try to learn about them, the easier it will be to get along and have some fun.
Find out what you have in common with others and you will usualy be suprised at just how simaler you realy are.

YES!!! I live right next to Canada, and everyone I know from there is different, from anyone I have ever known here. I have no idea why, they are so different, they just are. You can tell who is from Canada and who is from the USA. They aren't mean or anything, but I can tell you this when I see someone driving around and acting like a nut that has no clue where they are going or how the lights work over here, I know they are from Canada. How ever I know when I am over there they look at me the same way, HA HA!!! They just have a different way of talking, like saying EHHHH!!! IT NEVER STOPS!!!!! But I still like them!!!!

Yes there is a difference.

Canadians bow to the Queen,
