check your divorce papers, if you are not responsible for the marriage incurred bills, then no. If bills were yours prior to marriage, then yes. States differ from state to state so check with your divorce attorney. Companies will try to collect what is owed them by any means possible so dont be too scared yet, also companies are dictated by law as to their collection methods too, so if they arent careful, they can be in trouble too; ex: hours they can call, bothering you at your place of employment, etc. good luck

Legally they can come after you if your name is on them also. The thing about divorces is creditors don't care you agreed to get the debt with your husband and put your name on it agreeing that you would be held responsible also. Really the only thing you can do is pay the debts and then sue your ex for the money back...At that point if you won a suit against him then the courts could garnish his paychecks..it sucks and takes a long time to get the money back but there isnt much you can do unless you want your credit to go down hill by him not paying..If the bills were never are are not now in your name then you can leagally get them in troublte for harassing you..hope this was some help...

GOOD LUCK! It depends on where u live, if it's a community property state. Definitely talk to your lawyer, or call the bankruptcy court. They should be able to help. Need to see the documents before you panic.

Unless your name was removed from them, they will continue to come after you. Consult your divorce attorney, see if they can legally come after you or if those are on your husband because of the divorce decree. Creditors will come after you regardless of who took the debts in the divorce, you have to find out from your lawyer if they can legally do so. If they can't, you can write a cease and desist letter and they can't contact you again.

If your name is attached to the debt, i.e. a credit card that was in both names before the divorce, than you should be liable too. I would go talk to a lawyer.

IF your name was on the deeds, etc., there is a good chance that you will have to pay for them..I would contact a lawyer immediately before your credit is ruined. Good Luck

You shouldn't have too because that is what he agreed on. I would go and talk to a lawyer about it.
