after the job figures for the month of june came out..115,000 new jobs...nancy pelosi said the economy is tanking and wages are stagnant,,,

if this is true..and the job situation and economy is so bad...why do demonrats want to let all these illegals in the country and give them amnesty and go'vt benefits..???

seems to me the liberal socialists want to have things both ways...libs..answer this one for me please..and dont even blame bush ...i want to hear the liberals solution...not their whining...

I'm not a liberal, I'm a moderate/middle of the road. I think the terms liberal and conservative have taken on new meaning to become extremists. Too bad, since they have alot in common, like rich people and their selfish motives. Rich people, not Republicans or Democrats, are to blame for illegal immigration continuing. Rich people wanted to avoid labor laws and hired illegals for less pay and no benefits. It wasn't an issue when they displaced American migrant workers, or when they displaced American domestic workers because they were mostly poor whites and blacks. It wasn't an issue when they replaced minimum wage workers. But suddenly it is a problem because they are replacing factory workers and getting the higher paying jobs and now everyone's asking where all these bleeping illegals are coming from. HELLO! Poor people have been complaining for years that we are denied jobs by employers who are saving them for Mexicans and we are competing (with foreigners) for health care and other benefits meant to supplement us when we lose those jobs. Working class people have been complaining for years that they are competing with foreigners for jobs here and also losing their jobs to outsourcing. And now those of you who have had living wages all along suddenly notice the illegals infiltrating your jobs and blaming it on politics. You wonder why we don't have more sympathy. Where was our sympathy when it happened to us? And why do people keep politicizing it and avoiding the issues?

I think the illegal aliens should have a deadline to gain citizenship. As long as they go through the process to become a citizen I feel that they should get the benefits that other citizens should have. I don't feel as illegals they should get anything. If they fail to apply for citizenship - they should be sent back to their home land. I think that if illegal aliens had a deadline they would be more willing to apply for citizenship - because of right now they can just sit around all they want without worry.

Plus, America was founded on people who came looking for jobs - if they are qualified for the position they should recieve it. It's almost like the whole white man black man - when both men applied for a position and the black man got it - the white man would be made due to race. Just instead of race this time - people are blaming the illegals for their lack of jobs (when employers want employees that know what they are doing and qualified - and if an illegal is qualified and they become a citizen - then they should get the position).

I don't think that this is a "liberal" or "conservative" issue. This is an issue that affects everyone, liberals and conservatives or in between. As the problem has increased and knowledge of this problem has grown across the country, voters have put pressure on politicians about this issue. Politicians on both sides have been dragged kicking a screaming to this issue. It is a lose, lose issue for all politicians (except for those politicians that represent "border" towns) and politicians know that. Illegal, and make no mistake they are illegal no matter what the new "politically" correct term is, immigrantation is one of those issues that politicians like to talk about in their election platform and then put on the back burner when they get elected.
I have a story to relay about this issue. My family moved to Texas in the '80s looking for work (my Dad is a bricklayer). We were there for two weeks before my Dad got a job. It was almost minimum wage! When he was talking to some of the other guys, they said that it is hard to find paying labor jobs because of the Mexicans. We came to find out that the local construction companies (and I can't state that they all did this) would round up a crew of Mexican men, work them for two weeks with the promise of pay, and then turn them into the local immigration office just before payday. Free labor for darn near two weeks! I am not against rich people in any manor. If you think about it poor people don't sign your paycheck! (And, if I am not wrong that is one of the great promises of America. Come to our country LEGALLY with little to no money, work hard, and make money.) However, I am against using another human being.
The only way we are going to stop this is to nail the people who employ illegal immigrants. I don't mean a slap on the wrist either, I mean either LOTS of jail time or hit 'im where it hurts, their money. If we make it so that it is not worth it to the companies to hire illegal immigrants, there are no jobs for the illegal immigrants to have.

Well, cannot answer all your questions here, need to do some research. However, one thing I do want to point out. Bush want to allow illegal in the county. Have you not heard of the "guest worker" program he is pushing? I would need the number, but your comment about job up in June. Can you explain why they were down for May. When was the last time there was a minumum wage increase? I would not refer to myself as a liberal, but I really take back to a person that attacks another side so brasenly. My answer is if you want this economy to grow, you have to get people confident in spending money. How do you do it...one is to give them more of their own. So end the 6.9% ( largest percentage) tax cut given to the top wage earners and provide more tax releif to the middle class. Instead of spending millions of dollars on how to figure out how caribou will be affected by drilling in alaska, use the company to support companies exploring alternative to our reliance of crude oil I specifically am referring to the companies working on making biodiesel and developing technology of making crude oil out of carbon based waste products. This will elliviate gas prices. Turn over control of Iraq to Iraqis. Reassign the soldier to Kuwait and Saudia Arabia for training missions and to stay on stand by. Use our current Intellegence channels to monitor situation within Iraq. Or for more cost saving and getting soldiers closer to home. Instead of these soldiers patroling the streets of Iraq, let them patrol the seaports and airports monitoring incoming activities. They will not get shot at there.

Because in doing so, they'll open jobs. Really, they well. As they obtain legal jobs, which are out there, they'll free up the jobs that they previously had and the corporations that hired them will have to have make-over and make those jobs more appealing and, in the end, those jobs will be filled by your average joe.
