Both. Eastern Russia is contained in Asia, however the majority of Russia is in Europe. I guess it would be hard to define your nationality, and I don't know but isn't Russia part of the EU?

ASIA..well the majority is in Asia so basically its an asian country but if you go to the parts in europe then they'd probably say europe

It's in Asia. It belongs to the Asian continent on any map although the country itself is considered Eurasian.

I've heard several teachers as well as game show hosts use the term "Eurasia" to describe Russia's location.
