2 weeks ago was my wedding. I started to freak out about actually getting married AGAIN about 45 minutes before the ceremony. My 9 year old daughter (from my ex husband that has nothing to do with her and she calls him by his name) turned to me and said, " Mom, calm down. You want to do this. You love "Dad" and he loves you. He's the one you ARE to be with the rest of your life. Now, wash your face with this cool cloth, and go get married."
That was the first time she had called her soon to be step dad, "Dad" and it was the first time in a LONG time I had heard her called anyone dad.
My heart overflowed with love.

When my youngest sister was about six we were near a really old graveyard. She turns and says to me, " he must of been really bad because they put him in jail after he died too". It was one of those headstones with the ornate iron grate/fences around them.
Also had a youngster ask me once. "if your not married, then why do you have such a big bed".

My oldest son, he was 6 at the time (1st grade) was just talking about various things at school one day. He started talking about school lunch what they had, what he liked. Then suddenly stated "They have breakfast to, but I think it is only for the brown people"
My wife and I were floored.

My daughter told me that trouble don't last aways. It helped me to see that what I was going through wasn't all as bad as some go through and it was amazing for her to know that and say that to me.
