Certain physicists theorize that the plank length and the plank time (the time it takes light to travel the plank length) are the fundimental minimum units of space and time. Experiments have failed to either prove or disprove this so far, but the general concensus is that it will be proven to be true within ten or twenty years.

If so, this is good for us, becuase below the plank length, space and time become so tangled that they cease to lose meaning; thus preventing us from ever analyzing that realm with our current understanding of the laws of physics.
