if you are far along in your pregnancy, it may be because your baby has dropped or is just putting pressure on the muscles and ligaments in your pelvis. Lots of things can cause cramping throughout pregnancy. I wish I knew how far along you were.

Since you are writing in here asking questions, you have some concerns and you need to call your doctor and talk to him/her or the nurse. Don't ever be afraid to call them about anything you have concerns about. Better safe than sorry and they are there for exactly this!

I would stop walking immediately until you get an answer from them. You don't say if the pains continue when you stop walking completely.

A lot of doctors have you walk to get your labor going better...so there is a possibility that you could be in labor. That's why I say call them!

It could be that since the baby is so low, it's just sitting on all of your nerves down there and causing the cramps. I know my first pregnancy was this way. My son was very low and I could not sit on any hard surface (chair or floor...like when I was at Lamaze). It would kill me and I asked my doctor about it and he told me it was because the baby's head was laying on the nerves that were running through down there.

Unfortunately, my pain did not go away when I would sit until I gave birth! Once I had him it was so nice to be able to sit on a chair the right way again!

Good luck and give them a call...

This is a sign that your ligaments are stretching from weight of growing abdomen.

If you're having cramps, shorten your walking time. If still cramping, discuss with your doctor. Even a phone call, is better than not asking at all.

Oh yeah - swimming is a really good exercise for pregnancy. Good timing! I love summer! Just make sure you use waterproof sunblock and don't go between 10-2. hottest part of the day!

I am 29 weeks and carrying very low as well. I can only walk or even stand for about an hour before I get menstrual-like cramps. My doc said everything looks fine, but I probably should do abdominal strengthening exercises. If your abs aren't fit, the baby can do more pushing on them and your uterus will tend to lie lower.

o.k. heres my story. with baby # 4, I was going to go to my prenatal checkup. I was a little early, so decided to walk around the mall for awhile, while waiting. every so often, I`d get a little cramp, nothing too bad, I`d sit down, and it would go away. the cramps never came while I was sitting, only while walking, and very sporadically. Time came for my appt. when I got there , my doc checked my cervix. I was already 8cm dilated! bottom line......you may be in labor, and not even know it! get checked.just to be on the safe side.
