No one can ever fully know the truth, as to know the real truth would destroy our petty human minds.
The truth is different for everyone -- what one person may know as truth, could be a falsehood to another. It is therefore impossible to know the truth.
If we knew the truth, would our world be in the state it is now? Would we be warring amongst ourselves? Would we be arguing about religion versus Science?
The truth is unattainable, at this state in our existence as sentient beings. Perhaps one day we may know the truth, but I very much doubt it will be before all of us currently alive on this planet have been dead and gone for ages.

There is only one definition of truth and consequently only one answer.

The truth is the motive.

So, search for the motive and you will find the truth.

OK! Now if you ask what is the motive of existence (a possible legitimate philosophical question may be) you'll be lost. Physically there is no such thing. There is no need of a "free will" (with a motive) to explain the Universe. The Universe "is". Our duty is to understand how it is not why.

Why? Because the real meaning of why is clear. What is my motive? My motive is to understand the Universe so I can perpetuate my species. Intelligence is an adaptative process. It has one goal only to allow us to survive.

This is quite practical not metaphysical. Intelligence by construction does not lead to any metaphysical "knowledge". That's the truth!

I think, yes, but sometime we want to forget truth to make our present life more happier. As it is very difficult to digest truth all the time. In our Hindu religion, GITA says that, " If truth is not good for someone then it will be better to tell a lie".

Hell no. We are all just making this up as we go along. We don't know anything. We are just passing our own lies on to each other as truth. What is sad is people will believe anything just because they are so hungry for something to place their trust in.

As in WE, collectively, the truth lies within science, logic and irrefutable evidence. When WE can ALL agree then what must be true is true. example 2+2 =4.

The question is self-defeating, think about it. If we knew "the truth" we wouldn't be looking for it and there wouldn't be a need for a question because it would already be known. The question answers itself in the negatory.

The truth is what is left after we filter it through our life experience, perceptions and misperceptions and prejudices. Truth is relative to each person.
