These days many people look at Internet dating as an alternative to the club/bar scene, which was never a fabulous way to find true love anyway. It doesn't mean you're 'desperate'. I know someone who recently married someone he met on match.com a few yrs ago, so it can work. But I also know people who have had really crazy experiences and unreal stories to tell about their Internet dating. Just be careful.

I don't think it's desperate at all... but I do think you have to be careful. And I don't think it's for teens... but adults. I dated someone I met over the internet.. we actually didn't live that far apart and went to many of the same places, just never bumped into each other or noticed each other. Things didn't work out, but that can happen with any relationship. We were both normal people, just wanted different things in our life.

I'm in the process of spending the rest of my life with someone I met on the internet. Then again, I lost my virginity to someone I met on the internet, too.
When personal ads came out in newspapers, people were all like, "Oh, that's such BS....why can't they go out to bars like normal people?" It's the same thing now, just with world-wide borders. That can present some problems (ie: falling in love with someone overseas, or even just across the state), but it can also, with the proper resources, provide almost unlimited capacity to find the perfect person.
That's what I did, and I wouldn't have had it any other way.

i love meeting women over the internet - it doesnt mean im desperate - some people are too busy with careers and whatnot for dating - others just hate the whole club scene ----- true u could be talking to some person not who they say they are --- but u can meet somebody at a club and they seem nice then u could find out they are a criminal - so its not that big of a difference

I think its a little bit of both. I think people finding it more easyer to date over the internet then in person cause for one. They cant see what the person looks like. So personaitly is all they have. and since they have been talking on the internet for so long. and if they do meet. It wont feel so wierd

to me dating on the internet can be fun and also it can lead to something worse like someone can tell you all kind of nice things and they don't mean it also there can be perves, police,so lets don;t forget about liars. So to top it off people are desperate dating over the internet and its better dating in person

I think they're desperate or just blind. Dating over the internet is not only stupid its dangerous. You don't know anything about the people you are talking too, they could be some psycho nut bag killer feeding you a bunch of lies, so he can get you in his attick and chop you up like sushi.

Depends! All relationships take lots of time and energy, and internet dating is no exception. If you're serious about it, and you meet up with your internet love soon after finding them online, then it's no worse off than normal dating.

I think it depends on the people....i have seen a couple who dated on the internet and it turned out horrible when they met and tried living toghther BUT on the other hand i have known a couple that met on the internet....were talking for about a year...he lived in Australia and her here in the USA. He came here to meet her and he went to her home town and they are still together 10yrs later....i think it just depends on the people and how honest they are and things like that....it can happen....if god wants it to happen it will happen
