Ok, I recently allowed my roommate to have access to my computer while he is on his own computer so he could DL some files from mine through a router. Now my question is, how to ENSURE that he isnt doing anything OTHER than being able to DL files and where does it log what files he has DL'd and/or any other activities he might be looking or doing within my computer?
I am currently using Windows 2000 Professional.

Turn off file sharing for you hard drive.
Then create a folder (call in "download" or something else obvious)
Turn on file sharing ONLY for that folder.
Your roommate will now only be able to download files that are in the folder.
You can now put what you want him/her to have in the folder and not have to worry about access to anything else.

This site had many free downloadable utilities for your computer. The link below is for programs that will record events on your computer. But I would suggest limiting this persons usage of your computer. Also look into the free spy ware and antivirus tools on this site - does not hurt to take more precautions especially when you have someone "downloading" files and your unsure what all is going on.

Well in the past you can't tell easily. In the future, there are key loggers that can log exactly whats going on, ( It will log all passwords and such so be sure to read the disclaimer.)
