In your opinion, which person or perspective has had the most influence on the growth of psychology?

I understand this statement to mean that the actual science of psychology only goes back to 1879 when Wundt opened up the first experimental lab but that psychological issues and influences stem back very far. Psychology has been influenced by philosophy, physics, biology, etc. Psychology as we know it today, could not have existed without Aristotle, Newton, Bacon, and the like.

That is a very clever statement. It means that psychology is a deep subject that seems to go into a massive amount of depth, but relatively speaking it has not been around as a subject for very long.

It means that mental health diseases have been around for a long time but we haven't identified amd begun treating them until now.
