I read a while back that if you are taking OTC feminizing pills and creams, there are some shrinks in the major cities who would sign-off for you.
Think about this, though, what if you later discover that your difficulty is something unexpected and otherwise treatable. You may have simply turned yourself into some really weird characture that is not going to be acceptable as either a woman or a man. Then you will really need the shrink's help.
The psychiatrist (not just psychologist, a medical doctor is needing to see you) may discover that you have a fixable physical difficulty that you aren't seeing. You may be making mountains out of mole hills and don't know it. Or you may be right, but get some help discovering that. They then can help you on your journey, keeping you from zigging when you should be zagging.
They know people like you. They will be able to say, yes, you belong in such a program, or they could wisely say, you have different problems than you suppose. Get the shrink's help, listen carefully. If you still need to, they can save you a lot of unnecessary grief for something that will certainly bring grief by the buckets if you aren't careful. Good luck.

I would advise taking the psychological therapy as however 'ready' you might feel to start hormone therapy there are going to be some pretty major things happening in your life and you need to talk to someone about it so you know what your options are.

Remember a transition is not for wimps. You're going to need all the support you can get.
Also altering your hormonal balance can induce all sorts of mental side effects, not to mention undesired physical ones as well. So take care

Sweety, you need to talk to a psychologist first, to be sure that the Male to Female decision you are making is wise for you. Talk to your doctor. If you feel uncomfortable, seek a second or third opinion. Good luck.

It is not a good idea. No reputable physician would allow it. So if you do this, you're doing it without the supervision of a reputable doctor. Just not a good idea. Lots of bad things can happen.
