its a good business but you must remember that you have a lot of competition that are more established than you.

Website design business is a good business, the only problem is that you've got too much competition. Where I live in Portland, Oregon, USA, my "yellow pages" seem to be filled with Computer Scientists designing websites for a fee. You should check out "Franchise4sale.com" online and see which franchise you may want to invest in. I came upon it yesterday and have asked for more information. I currently like the Dairy Queen franchise. I'm thinking about starting a Dairy Queen franchise, about 2 stores in my native country, the Philippines. You can try that if you like.

One [wo]man web design team's time has passed. Most people use an established design company now because the web design tools have caught up with the power of the graphic design tools. I would try to get hired on at one of these design firms unless you are a skilled AJAX, or other server programming language guru, then you can contract your services to these companies.

yes, that is how my b/f makes a living. he works from home. he made a site for a mom and pop jewler and the jeweler gave him a $3,300 diamond ring.
