I purchased a wireless Laptop in May 2003 and for two and one half years I was using T-Mobile Hot Spots in Seattle:
Starbucks, Borders, Kinko's (Southcenter)
six months ago I thought I would do wireless from my apartment in Burien. I called the Networking Arm of Comcast and they came and installed a box which is a combined
modem/router (Linksys). I had nothing but trouble with the wireless connection - so I took the white cable that came with, and hooked up my Laptop to the modem/router and have had no trouble since. I could have spared myself the expense of getting the router - but Comcast do not warn you about the risks in spite of the fact that there are many Comcast customers who have had the same experience.

Well if I was you I would get cable internet in your apartment. It works much better than wireless does currently. And you can setup a home network with it if you add more than one computer in your apartment.

You need to buy a wireless router. Go to radioshack or something and ask for one and they will explain. Then ask your neighboors on what internet is provided in your area. You can only get certain ISP that is in your area, unless if it is dial up, like aol over thy phone, which sucks and is really slow.

We have have Comcast High-Speed Internet, and it works great! (Maybe thats because we're in a remote area of Utah...but a lot of people use it out here). It comes with TONS of features like free videos, security software, IM, e-mail, games, news, TV listings, entertainment, free web space, and a lot more! Check it out its way better than DSL.
