the blood test for down is for everyone. i had it done with my 2 girls. and i had them at 25 & 27. my first i had in cali and the 2nd was in texas.

I had the blood test and 3-D ultrasound at 35 for my son. Both were fine so I decided not to have the amnio. I decided that if my son was Down's it would only have prepared me and would not have changed anything and the risks of miscarriage from the amnio were higher than the chance of DS.
My SIL went through all that and was told her daughter was DS and her OB suggested an abortion. They kept her and discovered the tests were wrong.

I was going to be 35 when my first baby was born...they can't do the testing till 5 months. I declined to have ti done...you get what you are dealt with. You can't have an abortion at 5 months..so why bother. There is a 1 in 200 chance of miscarriage with an amnio. I had a healthy baby boy.

I am 30 yrs old and have declined these tests with all 3 of my pregnancies. There is a high percentage of false/positives and I didn't want to be dwelling on something like that during the pregnancy so my husband and I talked and agree that no matter what we will love our children and if something is wrong at birth we will deal with it then. What is the point? Are you going to terminate if the baby does have down syndrome?

where i live they automatically do it... i'm only 24 now and i was 20 when i had my son........
