no, i think he was the best young player. he scored three goals and help germany to get to the semifinals. i think he did a much better job and kept his dignity by not diving and asking for ridiculous fouls like some other player we know.

I dont think so. He is the best young player and if he was in the running Ribery would have been second. i am Italian and dont even like the French but be objective.
Christiano Ronaldo converted a PK in the world cup and had no other positive contribution. He made some runs but usually ended up losing the ball.I think he has great talent but not ready for this award yet.

the award is done by popularity of players its done by tsg to pick the best player adn podolski has bin one of the best strikers of the world cup and is tied for second with thenry for the golden ball so he was the obvious choice

Podolsk is an exceptionally gifted striker who works well with his partner in arms Miroslav Klose. His abilty to strike terror in the oppsition through sharp incisive movements and passes, greatly enhances his goal scoring abilty, increasing his importance to the team. He certainly wins my vote in conjuction with the FIFA award.

Who was he up against? did he play better than them? he never really stood out to me, so possibly Ronaldo (port) but then again, he possibly isn't the fairest footballer you've ever seen :-)
