You will find honest politicians when politicans are made to be responsible for their actions. eg: they fight the wars they start, clean up the messy social experiments they espouse, have a cap on their incomes and don't believe that their God is the only God.

, You are kidding ,aren't you . They have been for years , that's the way it's done now . I pray for the day when the American People wake up , open their eyes and see these politicians for what they are . Where could we find someone that would say no , to the Corporation lobbyists and other special interest holding there hand out with money in it , to get a special favor . This country is being corrupted from the inside and we should be more afraid of that , then Terrorist . We have a natural fear of terrorism, but we trust our worst enemy's , they live among us and look us right in the eye and say , " Trust me ", I know what's best for you and this country , all the time they are slowly changing this US for their own gain .

Yes when it is no longer so expensive to run for office. If we took the money out of it maybe we would also get some good candidates. How about Free TV spots of 30 sec each for ads and 2 0r 3 1/2 hr talks by each candidate plus the debates. All at no charge. Limit running for office to the last 3 mos before the actual election. Provide a plane to fly the candidate to different cities to speak. If we took the money out better people would get in and the lobbies would lose their power.

As elections in the USA are largely bought, whichever candidate that can raise the most funds by promising their allegiance to big business will be put forward by their party, and the most corrupt candidate from the two parties will have raised the most funds, and will produce the biggest campaign to discredit his opponent, and will be elected president.

A government of the people, by the people, and for the people, I think not.

God help America

No. I think that many politicians start out believing they will be the one that changes the face of politics. But, they soon learn that there is a game to be played. With that said, I would have to agree with Older and Wiser. You take out the need for all the money. You take away the power of the money.
