I don't see how ever someone would invade anothers property on file. Is it a bogus concern? No privacy means foull-proof, right?

To steal from one source is plagarism.

To steal from many sources is research.

Plagiarism is much easier today than ever. Full works of text are available online in seconds.

While text scanning and comparison software can be developed, that will likely be effective for more mainstream work. But plagiarism is much more broad than that.
