THAT is a VERY, VERY interesting question!!

If a few Humans can be genius level in brain power...Why not other animals.

After all ...Humans are a species of primates.... animals.

Some cats/dogs, etc are smarter than others....Shouldn't there also be those that are VASTLY smarter?

I bet there are some animals out there that are so smart, compared to their brethren that it's frightening!

Now, I don't think they're sending emails, LOL, but they might be able to comprehend at a level which we are unprepared to accept!

Just think, if that is a factor in their survival....
Just give those cats and dogs another 500,000 years and check back on them!

Your cat emails u at work? That's so awesome.
Oh, and to answer your question, yes some animals CAN be geniuses. They say dolphins and monkeys are the most intelligent animals to live. They think monkeys are smarter though, I think.

Yes. I don't know about cats, but dogs and gorillas seem really smart. They both learn quickly, and some gorillas are known to be able to use ASL-American sign language-a language using hand signals. But I don't know if a cat can do that. Or go as far as email.

Yes, humans. But monkeys are similar to humans and have some keen intellect but are rather childish compared to dolphins which communicate through sound almost like telepaathy. But both are mammals so in my opinion, mammals are the most intelligent creatures on earth for they have few instincts where we humans have little of no instincts besides fear and avoiding trouble.

You must first define genius and then explain how you will measure it. This can indeed be done for a given animal species, and the results would most likely show measurable differences between individuals.

My dog has already unified gravity and quantum mechanics, solved world poverty and cured cancer.

Unfortunately, I do not understand woof woof so I cannot pass his wisdom on.

He loves his rubber ball though.
