Because those that control the oil care not for anyone but themselves. They want to line their pockets with money that comes from the blood, sweat and tears of others. Bush, who owes his career to these men will do thing to help because he will not cross the men.

Increasing demand in China, India and other developing markets and very limited refining capacity here in the United States. It's less to do with the war and more to do with supply and demand.
Because of federal pollution rules no companies want to build new refineries in the United States. You can find all the oil you want but without refineries you can't make it into gasoline.

Supply and demand. The industrialized world is using more oil, China and India are driving demand. World oil production is approximately 85 million barrels a day, usage is at 84.5 million barrels. High demand, and low supply equals high prices.

Prices are driven by demand. China and India are rapidly growing, and if we want to keep shopping at Wal-Mart and buying cheap electronics, the demand will continue to grow.
When did cheap oil become a basic human right? Perhaps it's time to reevaluate our gross dependence on oil.

Why are housing prices so high???
Its the beauty of supply and demand
If we eliminated government forced welfare programs hence taxes the price would drop and be more in line with real supply and demand

Maybe because we're a bunch of freakin' idiots in the good ol' USofA. We, as Americans, are 100% dependent upon this precious Fossil Fuel. It's the Amish who have it right; they don't waste their time and money with cars and gasoline.

Because oil companies will make as much money as they can in an uncertain world, and we haven't come up with an alternative to fossil fuels.
