If you or a friend decide (hey, let's go and see what it's about ?) ... do they persist to degrade and judge the other women before knowing the truth ?

I always judge a dancer on style, technical ability, soul, and emotiveness. Why she works at a particular place is pretty irrelevant to the quality of the dance. And mostly, they're better than me, so I can't really degrade them.

Oh, is that not what you meant? Ummm, I don't like to make judgments about people's work choices. It's just inviting them to judge me. (Unless, of course, you're a communications major; everyone knows that's not a real academic pursuit. :)

Interesting question . . . I had an opportunity last weekend to go to a club for the first time, and I must admit that I left with a higher level of respect for the ladies that do that for a living. Now, I must also add, that i SAT only observed what was going on on the stage - I did not see what happened when people went through the little door on the left hand side of the club . . . .Everyone has a reason for doing whatever it is that they do - ladies that dance at clubs should not feel that it is necessary to justify what they do to anyone . . . it is between them and the God that they serve.

Because society see dancers as whores..white trash (not being mean about it) I was a waitress at a club for 5 years....They dont know how the women are in person just what they see. All of the dancer that I have known are very nice ladies (well not all)...And plus its the fact that is a women judging other women..

I think MOST women judge other women. I used to think that women who danced/stripped at clubs were just lazy. I no longer think that. I've been thru some major $$ problems in the last few years & believe me -i've thought about doing that line of work-I know the $$'s good. its hard to make it on minimum wage w/all the exp. of living & gas prices alone are insane. i understand why women do that type of work..it takes alot of guts to get up there & 'bare your soul'. i repect those women & their choices...right or wrong...people have to survive...like the bible says ...'judge not lest ye be judged'. PEACE.

There is alot of other decent things a woman can do for money. But since most dancers were abused as children it really isn't their fault that they are drawn to this type of lifestyle. However, that doesnt mean that they should continue degrading themselves, people should always try to better themselves.

I know it's wrong but it can be difficult to respect someone who takes off their clothes for a living. Not only is it degrading to all women, but it is like admitting that you have no brain to work with. Stripping is the closest legal thing to prostitution, and we all know how our society views thing like that.

i think that women degrade other women who work at gentlements clubs
because they want to make themselves feel better
they say catty comments like "oh she's too fat" or "the only reason she works here is because no one wanted her"
it makes women feel better when they degrade other women
and its really pathetic that us women have to do it
just to feel good about ourselves
if only we were like guys...
we just have to battle our problems out to figure who is the best
honestly i think that women who work at gentlements clubs are brave
and i think that they are making more money then most women in other buisnesses
they are showing off their bodies
and dancing for people they dont even know
and that puts them in danger in more ways then they think.

I think they're jealous cuz they don't have the guts to get up there and do it themselves. So it's easier for them to put the girls down or make fun of them than to admit the truth...

"I'll tell you what's not cool--killing strippers. Strippers are people too; naked people who may be willing to pleasure you for a price you negotiate later behind the curtain of a VIP room. Besides, there's no reason to kill them, 'cause most of them are already dead inside..."
