Go to Naples Fl. IF you have an RV then you can pretty much park anywhere...cause there's so many RV parks...There is one called Kountree Kampinn and they have a heated pool with a REC hall, that has a piano... Shopping locations are all around so no hassle...and beach is 15 min. away... or...just go to a restaurant in naples and get a DISCOUNT book...and get a room next to the beach , in a hotel, for 39.99- 49.99 a night.... SOUNDS GOOD TO ME...

I used to live in Vero Beach Florida. It is on the coast about an hour from Orlando. The beaches are nice, they have some good restaurants, and it is quiet. They have a Disney resort there that is nice. If you like fishing, there are some good opportunities. If you like to fly, the Piper aircraft company is located at the airport. You could also charter a plane for a few hours, and take an air tour for a few hundred dollars. There are some great sights from up there (On a clear night with enough altitude you can see both coasts).

Egads, there are so many NON-TOURIST places, like the Salvador museum in St. Petersburg!
New Smyrna Beach has always been my favorite on the East Coast...
West Coast (Gulf) has some perfect, tranquil, beaches!
And, there are a HUGE number of State Parks, National Parks, Wildlife refuges, the Wekiva River (crystal clear!), from a canoe!!! And, camping in Ocala National Forest!

Uh, I don't think Boston or Chicago is in Florida. I would suggest Club Med in Port St. Lucie. My husband is from Florida and he enjoyed this place more than anyplace else. It's all-inclusive (drinks and food) and has tons of activities. It was one of the best vacations we've ever had.
