Having seen An Inconvenient Truth (and no I didn't find it alarmist, just practical), I am shocked that the media are still trying to make a mockery of global warming. There is no disagreement among the world's reputable scientists about the real effects of climate change - so why do some governments still act like there is no environmental threat.... I sure wouldn't be planning on developing in places like Miami on the beach. If you have not seen the movie, do it.

Look what happened after New Orleans flooded. What is going to happen when entire states flood? Where will all the refugees go?

I think I would invest in inland real estate and in technologies that would be in high demand downstream of the disaster. Seriously, I think until there is an ECONOMIC reason to change behavior, people will not act in their own self-interest, but rather in selfishness. It's just a bigger version of not flushing the toilet after you leave the restroom. Like, whose job is that supposed to be?!!
