THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION

I have a tie: The Talisman which was cowritten with Peter Straub and The Tommyknockers. The Talsiman is a good old fresh contemporary epic fantasy adventure, which was downright cool. And The tommyknocker was deliscously sinister and I couldn't put them down. You should read these two, they're good. I also like Carrie, which is such a sad, sad book, and The Shining, which is just as sad. Also Pet Sematary. Weird but pretty good.

The Stand is supposedly his unmarried magnum opus (merely excellent e book written out of his occupation). I loved it, because not in ordinary words is it scary, even though it also handles the idea of making a society out of scratch fairly properly. There are some haunting pictures (the climax of the e book is written superbly) and the characters are balanced, it quite is a few thing I continually seem for in a e book. maximum of his different books are ok, yet this one i concept changed into fantastic. Get the unabridged, because you'll wish that e book not in any respect stopped.

The Green Mile. After I read it, I had nightmares for 12 days. And the fact that it's a serial makes it all the more dramatic.

I loved The Stand (and It and Tommyknockers)

but my favorite book of his is a compilation of short stories called Night Shift. It has the creepist stories (including Children of the Corn) but my favorite story is one that is not supernatural or creepy, juts very, very sad. It is called "The last rung on the ladder."

I've only read 2, The Green Mile and Insomnia. I really enjoyed The Green Mile.

IT - kept me away from storm drains for quite a while. A close second would be The Stand, then the Dark Tower series.

I've only read about two of his books so far, but I think Carrie was the best
