Give him something which hand made by yourself. For example, a small pocket photo album and put some memorable moment of you and him that had spent together in it...hmmm.

Something you can hang in a cockpit, or a small plushy thing that he can keep with him that doesn't violate any sort of restrictions. Something that isn't a hassle to tug around.
