In Internet Explorer, click "Tools", then "Popup Blocker"
If you just want to allow Yahoo to have popups, click "Tools", then "Internet Options" then "Privacy" then click "Settings" under "Popup Blocker"
If this doesnt help, hold down the CTRL key before the popup comes up.

Well, it sounds like you probably just have pop-ups disabled. This means that you either have a pop-up blocker activated, or javascript (a computer language used to initiate these pop-ups) disabled entirely. So...

I'm not on a PC so I can't give you a step by step, and you didn't specify which browser you are using, but I'll assume it's Internet Explorer.

This is what you need to do:
Open you browser, and in the top left where you have all those menu options (like "File", "Edit", etc.), go into each one of those until you find something that unchecks pop-up blocking OR (if you don't see anything like that)... look for something called "Preferences". In there you should be able to find something like "Web Content", and within that you should be able to find something like "Allow Scripting". Make sure that is enabled, and that should work.

BUT!!! I have to warn you that enabling javascript (especially if you are using IE on a PC is slightly dangerous and could open you up to certain viruses, adware, etc.)

You can contact me if you need more help.

It may be that you need to upgrade your operating system in order to play some games. Certain online games need more guts in a PC, so if you can afford it, go get a second-hand machine (they are really getting cheap these days!).
Ideally, the CPU speed should be (well, for chess, about 256 - 512 MHz, RAM should be around 256Mb and a reasonable graphics card should suffice)

But some hardware needs a more recent version of Windows - if you want, I can send you a copy of my old, yet compatible version of Windows 2000 Pro with an installation key. email me if you would like that offer.

Happy chess games, my friend.

If you use SBC browser, to the right of the adress bar, there's an icon, click it and turn off popup blocker or change the settings to allow for the chess game.

If you use IE browser, click tools, popup blocker.

First go to the option "Tools" in the Internet toolbar. Select "Internet Options. Go to the TAB "security." Finally adjust the sliding bar to the level of pop-up security that you want.

OK- do you have a yahoo toolbar? If so there should be an icon that's blue and square that "says enable pop-up blocker" or "disable pop-up blocker" when you click on it.

to leave the popup blocker on but temorarily bypass it hold down the CTRL key and click on what you want to open in a popup.

turning off a popup blocker doesn't mean you have them all off. many programs have them and you might have as many as ten running at once and not know it.
