That question has such a subjective answer. Lance Armstrong may be the most admired cyclist, but there are other athletes equally admirable in each of their different sports.

Easily the most interesting thing I have ever heard about Armstrong was about his heart. His heart is three times larger than that of an average man. When he rests it beats about thirty-two times a minute. This obviously gives him a great advantage as an athlete.

One of the most incredible athlete stories I have ever heard was that of James Blake. Blake is a Pro tennis player who has had to overcome a lot to get where he is today.

Blake started playing tennis at age 5. At 13, Blake (born in Dec 79), was diagnosed with scoliosis (curvature of spine), which forced him to wear a neck brace 18 hours a day until 1997. Blake went on to train, inspired by Ash, and in 1999 Blake turned Pro.

As a Pro Tennis player Blake incurred injuries to the vertebrae in his neck and he suffered from Zoster, a condition affecting hearing and visionary senses.

Blake overcame these physical hardships to play tennis again and was named 2005 ATP Comeback Player of the Year. From August 2005- March 2006, he compiled a 43-12 match record with four ATP titles and two runner-up showings.

Personally, Blake is the athlete I admire the most.

Um, some those names you said are so ridiculous. Tiger Woods on steroids? Hasn't he golfed considering he replaced into like 4? And Manning, did not he the right thanks to throw a football at the same time as he replaced into like 6?

NO, at one time maybe, but there's too much controversy surrounding him now.
try these:
French soccer player: Henry
STL Cardinal: Pujols
HOU Astro: Clemens
NBA (RISING) star Dwayne Wade
Brett Favre
although he's retired Michael Jordan
