The msn poll is flawed. if you seek information from other sources you will find that 60% of men have cheated. Oh yes, 40% of women have too.
No, it's not acceptable behavior, but it is normal behavior. People that are in love with their spouse have cheated, dut to many reasons.
If this happens to you, before you kick the guy out maybe you should spend some time in conversation with him; it may be worth it to save your relationship. Don't be hateful or green with revenge, just talk. As for me, yes I have and i have regretted it, but still would do it again in the same situation. if you want to email me for more, it's ok! marks3kids@yahoo Good luck

Cheating is never acceptable. If you love someone then why cheat? When you are with someone and truly love them then there should be no reason for you to stray. If there are bumps in the relationship, try to work them out first, dont just sleep around because youre pissed off. If its not worth working out then neither is the relationship.

Everyone can be stupid once .... as long as you learn from your mistake.
Of course, a mistake that happens more than once is not a mistake ... it's intentional.
WHY in the world would you want to hurt her now if it's over? Just to stop you from feeling guilty?
Telling her about it is more selfish than making the mistake in the first place, if you ask me.
If you haven't cheated ... DON'T. The feeling you'll have from violating her trust (and she will find out about it if it continues, you can't hide it from someone so close to you) is about the same feeling as having someone drive a 2x4 through your stomach and twist it around for a couple of months. Believe me, it will only make you feel like crap.
If it doesn't make you feel like crap ... get out of the relationship because you're NOT in love and staying is only going to make it worse.
If this is a repeating pattern in your life ... RUN, don't walk, to the nearest mental health care professional that you feel you can talk to... this is NOT a good thing. (There are even free clinics out there if you need to talk to someone).
If you have already cheated... and you regret it ... TELL NO ONE except your doctor, lawyer, or priest ... Word WILL get out otherwise. I promise. And you'll never see it coming. Seek out a professional to talk to if you need to unburden yourself.
If word does get out and you have learned your lesson, Deny it .... if presented with evidence ... still deny it .... It doesn't become real in her mind until you admit it. Just make darn sure you work to regain her trust and NEVER stray again.
If you haven't learned your lesson ... be a man ... let her go and be happy with someone that can keep his pants zipped up.

Despite what some would have us believe, it is not normal to "cheat". Cheating - or even having sexual encounters with your partners permission - is dangerous. Besides the physical dangers (STDs and such), there is the emotional and physical damage that can be caused... especially if she finds out (as my gf reads this over my shoulder, glaring at me whispering "damn right you better not cheat")

no it's not normal to cheat ever . no it isn't acceptable now or will it ever be. my reason fear of setteling down for the rest of my life with someone and not being 100% she was the right one for me. i was childish and young. yes i told her and i was forgiven. bad part ,it ended shortly after because i couldn't take the gilt lesson learner if you can't love 100% get out befor you rouin someone elses life

It's when women start sexual bartering that men feel they have to cheat, we don't want to have to do our chores, or buy you a present to get laid. To answer your question, I have never cheated, but I've been tempted to at times.
