A wish is but the whisper of a thought and yet hope never fails. I would hope my sons would walk like men with strength and purpose and their sexuality would be but a forethought and my daughter in the understanding of the beauty by which she was created and the allowance for a man to delight in that beauty.

I'd wish for a happy son/daughter who is comfortable in their own skin. Unfortunately, as the replies above have exemplified. Society is full of close minded fools. So, hopefully I'll have a gay son/daughter who is steadfast in what they believe so society doesn't keep them down.

I will love my babies regardless of their sexual choices.
But I sometimes wish my child will be queer because:
1. They are less likely to have children while in high school or accidentally. If they have children, it will be as an intentional, planned choice.
2. They are less likely to enter or be drafted into the military in wartime
3. we are priveleged white folks from an affluent background and a commonly accepted religious affiliation (sorry, but I'm calling it like it is)-- and it's good for us to have some way to identify with people who suffer discrimination on a daily basis. The world needs more people with money and power who know what it is to suffer.
4. From personal experience, I know that others of one's own gender are often MUCH better lovers than those of the opposite sex.
Response to the user who commented that wishing adversity on one's children is sadistic:
I don't believe that. I do wish that my child will experience some adversity in life. Not soul-killing, crushing grief, over and over, no traumatic crime or warfare, but some adversity, yes. Overcoming adversity is a growth experience and it builds strength, confidence, and teaches resilience. Let's face it. Life involves many conflicts and difficult situations and we have to be able to draw on past experiences and personal strength to deal with them. I want my child to be strong and survive, not sheltered and weak. And I also want her to be compassionate and able to empathize with her fellow human beings.

I would definately wish for one. They would understand that there is nothing wrong with what your sexuality is. They would help change the world and make us far more open-minded. I'd love my son or daughter no matter what they were, homosexual, heterosexual, or bisexual.

No, their lives are full of rejection and pain. However, I would support my son or daughter if I found out that he or she was gay.

wishing adversity on your children is sadistic. But any rational person would know their offspring will undoubtedly face misery straight/gay or whatever classification you can conceive.
Do you think you can honestly produce happy, loving, caring, "perfect" children given your constraints? What is the reason for having children at all...

no, because how would they keep the commandment "Honor thy Father and mother, so that thy days may be long in the land the Lord thy God giveth you." As they cant reproduce?
