The Detroit Tigers! In a pennant race! Being a Tiger fan, I have been following them closely for years...I knew they would be improved this year---maybe reach .500 for the first time in 13 years---but I never would have guessed they would be this good!

For all you naysayers...I say you are wrong!

If The Tigers play .500 ball the rest of the season they will win 96 games. That is good enough for the wild card.

I think The White Sox will end up winning the Central, and The Tigers take the wild card.

Did you see this coming? I didn't...but I am enjoying it very much!

No, I didn't see it coming at all, but it sure feels good! I'm a Detroiter and for years it's been total apathy as far as the Tigers, but now it's Tiger Mania around here! The kicker is it's not even a fluke. Solid hitting and magnificent pitching have carried the Tiger to the top of the Central. It will be a war with the White Sox down the stretch, but I believe in them. I am a witness! Bless You Boys 2006! Go Tigers!

From another lifelong Tigers fan--no way! I knew they'd be improved this year, but not like this! Holy cow!!!!!!!!! Love it!!
Who would thought the Marlins would be doing so well after their fire sale?
For the Tigers to win it all next year, I'd like to see them trade Craig Monroe and a package for Bobby Abreu.
I'd also like to see them get rid of Todd "Rollercoaster" Jones, Brandon Inge, and getTrot Nixon who always hits very well against Tiger pitching.
I don't know why, I'm just not a big Inge fan. I'd like to see them get maybe Eric Chavez at the hot corner instead.

How could it be predicted? The Twins have pretty much owned that division for the last few years. It is good the Tigers, like all teams I'm sure, have you diehard fans that are with the team through the good and bad. Good luck to the Tigers, hopefully the recognition they are going to get helps them win for years to come.

I certainly didn't see it coming Georgie. The Tigers are definitely the story of 2006 so far. Here's hoping they avoid a letdown in the second half and keep the Yanks out of the playoffs.
