Absolutely not.
Lets talk about the death penalty. You would think that the idea of being executed would serve as a deterrent to most capital crimes. But with all the appeals, a person can sit in prison, some better than some hotels I've stayed in, for years--sometimes decades and have all his appeals cost him nothing.
If people knew they would get the death sentence for a capital crime and also knew that sentence would be carried out swiftly, that consequence would deter most such crime.
Now I'll get down off my soapbox....

NO, I work at a prison and it really astonishes me that someone can get 20 years for possession or sale of cocaine and 5 years for child molestation or 10 years for rape and the rapist and child molester get out get out on parole before some drug dealer. It truly sickens me sometimes.

Please..this is an international forum....whose justice system are you talking about?
So pleased that we do not have the death penalty. There is no justification for it morally.

no way, it has become a who knows who, if you have friends in the right places, also if you would ever do a census on crime and crimes committed, would you still call it a fair ,impartial, judicial system, how can some do a crime and get railroaded while others get a slap on the hand
