Ellen is the only female comedian I can think of. So I'll go with her. And she's also really down-to-earth and not afraid to display her true self. AND she's hilarious.

I love Kathy Griffin , too ! Especially when she talks about celebs ! That just cracks me up ! I love her , but my husband can't stand her . Oh well , I make him watch her anyway!!

I only saw one other person list Paula Poundstone, and even that was just part of a long list.
Paula is witty, quick and just plain fun. You can hear just how quick she can be by listening to a program called, "Wait! Wait! Don't tell me!" on NPR. In a panel full of bright, witty people, she can really stand out.
