The translation is a "lead balloon". They named the band that because someone told them their sound would go over like a lead balloon.

The band Led Zeppelin were originally formed from the remnants of classic 60's band the Yardbirds. They called themselved the New Yardbirds but decided that that was crap so pinched a favourite phrase of The Who's drummer/nutter Keith Moon 'That went down like a lead Zeppelin' and became Led Zeppelin.
N.B. a Zeppelin was a dirigible airship invented by a German of the same name in the early 20th Century. A lead version of said ship would not have flown too well.

Led Zeppelin had been suggested by Keith Moon, the drummer of The Who.
Jimmy Page, the guitarist for Led Zeppelin was considering forming a supergroup with Keith Moon. But, Keith Moon wasn't very impressed with their sound and got the phrase from John Entwistle's term for a bad gig, describing it as "going over" (some sources say "going down") "like a lead zeppelin". The group adopted the name, deliberately dropping the 'a' in Lead to prevent people from pronouncing it as "leed". Pretty ironic!

The name "Led Zeppelin" was suggested by Keith Moon when he thought the band would go over, "like a lead zeppelin", a phrase he lifted from John Entwistle, for a bad gig.

THE rock band. When Page, Plant and co were first rehearsing Keith Moon heard them playing and remarked " That'll go down like a lead Zeppelin". Hence the band name.

Maow maow maow mamamaow mamamamamaow maow mamamaow.
Name that tune.
While I think about it, the lead balloon analogy is a terrible one. Surely a very heavy inflatable object woould go down very well. So, if something goes down really well, why should it not be a lead balloon positive rather than negative?
