To think that we are the only intelligent life in the entire universe, even beyond our galaxy is pretty nieve. I definately think there are et's out there. now have they visited our planet? thats a whole other discussion

Yes. I think if you reference Drakes Equation, it will at least provide the suggestion that even if the most conservative numbers are used, intelligent life will certain be out there.
Whether or not we ever encounter them or communicate with them is another question.
