The rest will never be heard and don't mean anything to anyone outside of a small circle.

Cool question.

The fact the I dont know if in the near future I will become an extraordinary person is the only way to deal with this.

You never know. Maybe at 80 you might do something great!!!

I wouldnt mind if i were a big movie star, or a great scientist, or discover the perpetual motion machine, or invent the next generation computers.

but i hear ya, i hear ya.

Even the extraordinary are contained in a small circle of awareness.

I believe we are extraordinary. Why? Because each individual is irreplaceable making them extraordinary.

You are the perfect you because there is no other you. Everyone has unique qualities...maybe the question should be; How can a person find what makes them extraordinary? And, How can they share their unique qualities?

I have been to busy living, working and surviving to worry or think about those that are extraordinary. I envy no one and admirer those who have had the nurturing, education, talent, or just plain know how to become extraordinary. It is amazing what one can do if they set their mind to it. I believe that most of mankind have the ability they don't know how to tap into it. I also believe that most everyone has a story to tell about something that most would find interesting and others amazing and still others extraordinary. If one is lucky enough to have a circle of friends, that looks up to them, that listen's to what they have to say, that respect's you & speaks well of you then I think you are as special and rare as they come.
Thanks for the thought provoking question now go out and shake things up. Good luck

But it doesn't matter if you weren't ever heard of. At least you're extraordinary to a small circle and made a difference in their life. No one will ever be consiered extraordinary by everyone and no one will ever be considered extraordinary by no one.. we're all extraordinary just as much the one next to us is. Certain people just might not be noticed as much.. but we're all extraordinary ♥

You do have a point, but it is those people that dont mean anything outside of a small circle that make society function. Without these "insignificant" people, everyday jobs that we depend on wouldnt get done! Our trash wouldnt get taken out, our cars would never be repaired if something was wrong with them, and we wouldnt be able to eat if no one was in charge of food management. So you see, everybody is extraordinary, just in their own way!

I agree with you, that is the sad truth.

Personally, I've never found it a problem I needed to cope with. But, if your feeling that it really effects you, think of the whole world as you small circle, and think of you as one of the VIP's.
You don't have to be known to be more to be an extraordinary person. Some people that are better known are probably more ordinary than you are. (And I mean that in a good way.)

Everyone is extraordinary in many different ways -& everyone is here for a divine purpose -no matter how big or small - Even if you were born just to make a hateful person smile - then you've done something extraordinary - Simple or complex its still extraordinary that we are all here living & breathing & loving
So that makes us all amazing just for that

I suspect that nearly everyone is "extraordinary" in some, highly-specific way. However, our cultural priorities are such that we only pay attention to those who excel in certain fields - entertainment, for instance, or athletics.

For instance, elsewhere in Y! Answers, they're listening to a rock star talk about ridding the world of poverty. All the while, there are surely hundreds, maybe thousands, of talented, exceptional people who have devoted their whole lives to solving those very problems. Why were these people not consulted? Are they less qualified or inferior in any way? No - they're just not rock stars.

Only a global change in our priorities will allow everyone to shine. When we are happy to play our own music, or to watch our children play games, rather than overpaying a total stranger to do it for us, only then will we be equipped to recognize everyone's innate talents.

I drink alot so that I can always at least have the excuse that my drinking kept me from making somebody of myself.

Then I sit on my couch, drunk, watching the people that have made it and I say to nobody in particular "I could do that, if I had more time/connections/energy/etc.". then I take another swig and look into the other room in my 1 bedroom apartment at my mediocrity and I smile because I know, without ever trying, that I COULD be someone big. But I sit around and wait for luck to find me.

I guess that it's my potential that keeps me going. I'm sure that's true of a lot of people.

And who is the one that determines who is and who is not extraordinary? All humans are equal in my books. Sure some do more than others, but does that make them extraordinary? Not really. It makes them activists.

We are all special in our own ways. Maybe you're just not perceptive enough to see the special features of so many others?
