It was a coaches decision it had nothing to do with injury. Although I still think he is a great goal keeper and better than Lehman he is 37 years old, and there is an injection of youth in the German side in fact they were the youngest team in the cup.
Also he will be playing on Sunday to have a worthy farewell to his career in the world cup.

Because he Sucks! Ach he is the worst, and i am a 12 year supporter of Deutschland and a 3 year support of bayern munchen, and he is not so good. I am sehr froh that Lehmann played instead of him.
