The Earth will be here for another 15 billion years until the sun supernovas. Man however will either survive for several more millions of years and live in peace or will blow themselves to kingdom come with the next 100 years. There is always the possibility that man will master space flight and colonize other planets.

Everyone thinks another world war will be a nuclear war. I don't think anyone in their right mind wishes to drop a nuclear bomb with the threat of one dropping on the dropper. Another world war will not necessarily be a nuclear one. Only when a Nation is backed into a corner with all other options spent will a government use nuclear power. When that happens, that country will be gone as the world knows it now. I don't figure there would be more than two or three nuclear bombs let loose.

Earth may, but will mankind? To be or not to be, that is the age old question. Man is so stupid he hates his enemies enough to blow them up and himself along with them. Suicide bombers of today are small world war 3's in capsulated form, like a pill, the short term affect is small but the long term result is about the same. World War 111 will take years to complete but it sort of started with the Twin Towers lucky strike by the so called terrorists. If Hollywood had not have made feature films to show them how to do it they would never even have thought of it!

I've done some work is this area.
Even if ALL of the nuclear weapons were used at once in a war there is NOT enough to wipe out the human race.
And that is fact.
If you don't believe me, look up the effective range of a nuclear weapon, see many there are in the world and then compare that to the total populated area of the planet.
You maybe surprised.

If one of the contestants is strong enough and smart enough to totally swamp his opponent in one big sweep, then it will quickly be over and the world will have the least number of casualties.
But, if it is a slow gradual thing, hundreds of countries will become involved and the war will becom world-wide, and the casualties will number in the millions, with world-wide devastation and the war will linger on for years
A "one swoop" engagement is the most humane way to fight a war. It kills the least and generally stays withing certain boundaries. Before the rest of the world can decide on who to join with or against, the war will be over and it will be time to talk, not to fight.
Let's hope that is how WW-III will take place. And let's hope we stay strong enough with our military forces that we will be able to handle that "one-swoop" no matter which side we are on.

World wars as we knew them are obsolete. Future of warfare is going on all around us now. So will Earth survive what is happening now? Of course the "Earth" will. The "Earth" can not be destroyed by humans. Humans can only destroy small scale things and life forms. Such as animals, plants, and themselves.

The earth will survive even without us humanoids. However some of the humanoids will survive. Most likely the same rat bastards who orchestrated the war in the first place.
