I am not a girl, but here is my answer. You cannot give good advice without first being a good listener. Learn to listen, then you can make a better choice to or not to offer advice.

I think I was girl in a latter life because I can answer this one clear as a bell. Listen and speak everything taking the advice given.

One would not be able to give good advice about something they knew nothing about.
Listening and not talking allows a person to hear his own words and usually work out his own dilemma. It's the nicest thing you can do for someone with a problem....just listen to them. Sometimes they don't even want a solution...just to be heard. m

depends on the situation. I believe you can truly listen and give good advice when it is needed. Sometimes people dont really want advice, but just to vent.

It is better to listen. Some people go on and on about what they would do when in your shoes, tooting their own horns, making the one asking for advice sorry she asked.

It's best to ask, "Do you want my advice? Or did you just want me to listen and stay quiet?" That way honey, you're never at that place where you were the bad guy. Nana

I go for listening. Definitely listen, and when she's done talking,.. maybe say something, but realize that you can't fix all her problems, and she probably doesn't want you to.
