Its not "Face Cancer"... but it could be skin cancer. Your mom should go see a dermatologist ASAP.

I am only a member of a Teenage Health Advisory team but I can tell you that with what I know, there is such a thing as faceal cancer, you can get cancerous tumours anywhere in the body. You SHOULD go to the doctor just to check things over. At least you can put your mind at rest and if there is a problem then I'm sure there will be treatment.

There is such a thing as skin cancer which can happen anywhere - the face is more exposed than other areas of the body so it is prone to it.

Don't waste time speaking about seeing the doctor - go and do it! Chances are it's something harmless anyway, then you can stop worrying.

Skin cancers can vary. Melanomas can look a bit like a freckle or mole, but are not usually symetrical, have a raggedy edge and are usually several colours. However there are different cancers. Get it checked out, because "later" can mean a loss of a lot of flesh, on the face that's not good. It's probably nothing but don't risk it.

There's a condition known as basal cell carcinoma, which commonly affects the face, usually around the nose or on the ears. Try googling it and compare images. But really, no-one can make a diagnosis without seeing the lesion, so you should get your mum to see her doctor.

sounds like something called a "rodent ulcer". Its a type of benign growth but it could turn cancerous. If I was her I would be at the docs getting it seen to, if any changes occur in moles or freckles they should be checked by a doctor. Even if you do feel like a pest, go and get them checked. And if you have moles on your back, on get someone you trust to keep an eye on them.

It is very possible that it's become a pre-cancerous lesion. She should get it looked at right away. Some skin carcinomas are very fast-spreading.

I had neighbor who eventually died from cancer, and it started on his face.
