Wow! tough choice but I would go with...
Pretty Hate Machine-1989-NIN (Nine Inch Nails).
From beginning to end, non-stop music for the soul. The idea that an LP was designed to be a "help" to breaking up with someone kinda baffled me until I heard it. Head Like a Hole, Sin, and Ringfinger are amazing...but for my money, the song that STILL haunts me to this day is Something I Can Never Have (btw, that CD was designed to be listened to on headphones!!!!)
