George Bush claims we were attacked on 9/11 because they hate our freedoms. Do you believe Osama Bin laden freaked out when he read our “Bill of Right” or was he and 16 of the 19 Saudi Nationals convinced our presents in their country was harming Islam and rightly or worongly considered and act of war having one way to strike back being 9/11?.

I think that the 9/11 attacks have been waiting to happen for years - now the government can make as many ludicris laws that invade privacy and tangle up our rights.

GO MCCARTHYISM!

Who is them exactly? What is this Us versus Them that people go on about? And what part of the world is that? It has a name you know. Afghanistan. No, I don't believe that Mr. Bin Laden got "freaked" out over any thing the Yanks wrote. Bill of Rights is a joke. Just look at Guantanamo Bay if you please-where are the rights then? Freedom-what a laugh! Who is free in the land of Bush? Who? American soldiers aren't just harming Islam-they are violating it. America has no right to be in any country, but they're own. What Divine Presence gives them the right? America is not God's Law on Earth, the country must stop acting as though it is. History has shown that where ever America goes in the world War and Famine follow. I say that America must look within itself before it looks out into the horizon.

Your second scenario is much more likely. What Bush meant, but did not explain well, was that our freedoms, if expanded to nations of Islam threaten their very beliefs and values.

While only our government agency's know there also could have been clandestine operations in the middle east that we have no knowledge of to try to tip the power structure to our liking.

That has happened in the past so may very well have happened here. Ben Laden's alienation from his own country may have been part of that plan. That would do it.

When the Soviet Union collapsed the US military budget was under threat as without any visible enemy poised to attack the US the military became in danger of unemployment . Thus the Al Quaeda group was created ,armed and trained by the US military and in the process if George Bush's career got a boost then a few thousand Americans were a small price to pay.

He is not the government of Saudi Arabia. I don't like us dealing with China so I have a right to destroy 4 symbols of power in China?

If we are interfering why haven't a legitimate country attack us like Iran.

The freedoms they hate are the debauchery here The Alcohol, Drugs, the half naked women, the homosexuals, Movies, the music. These are the things he is against and the fact we are all (All off us not Muslims) Infidels and not following the law of Muhammad.

Wake up you moron. These people don't like freedom anywhere. Our presense isn't harming Islam, it's a religon of peace not terrorism. America isn't there only target, peace is the target. What's your excuse for the * two Somallians killed for watching the World Cup? These assholes want you and me dead. Why? Beause we enjoy freedom. Get it through your thick head. Most terrorist acts have been commited outside of America. There is never an excuse for killing 3000 civilians going about there day. Our precence is Saudi Arabia may be for our own intrests. OIL. You like driving your car don't you? So don't complain. We've loaded that country up with more wealth than they could have ever imagined. Yes we get involved with foreign policies, but not with there own laws. We push for freedom to help secure our own and I see nothing wrong with that.

its all a charade man ... of course the US is full of greed, deceit and little tolerance for those who have different ideals .... also the US is controlled by Pill pushing drug companies , Oil Mongers and any other company with enough cashola to sway the Politicking bureaucrats in Washington... Lobbying should be illegal and Politicians could be a thing of the past... with the dawn of the internet there is no reason to have representation by a person who makes a choice for many... we can all make our own choices and if we took a majority vote on any of the issues we have had since the dawn of these new technologies the world would probably be a better place with less CVS's and Walgreens on every corner and less doped up americans and cars that run on water ... and food and shelter and clothing for all !!!! Screw the Media too!!!

PRESENCE--The only presents we ever gave to Bin Laden and his associates was enough weapons to beat the Russians in Afghanistan. We were repaid by the development of the Taliban and Al-Queda in that country. Our generosity was repaid by the bombing of the USMC barracks in Lebanon, Khobar towers in Saudi-Arabia, Our embassy bombings in Tanzania and Kenya, The first bombing of the WTC, other bombings and assinations and bombings throughout the world, the USS Cole, and the biggies of 9/11.

Thank God we finally elected a republican president and Congress with the cojones to strike back at them. THEY ALL WANT TO KILL US--doesn't it make sense to kill them back?

No. No matter how guilty some want to feel, nothing the US did justifies the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center. (and this is the opinion of a Lib Canadian)

Our actions in the Middle East are not justification for attacks on civilian populations. Ultimately he is a fanatic (kind of like some of the fanatics around here sadly). His beliefs are not rational. Those beliefs are deeply rooted into a very fundamentalist version of Islam - one rejected by the far majority of Islamic followers.

I feel like we brought on 9/11 by not responding to them in Africa (black hawk down incident), when they attacked our embassies in Africa, the first WTC attack, and the attack on the USS Cole. We didn't respond. They kept pushing - until we did.
