I didn't but the only reason is if your comparing the length of the ship to sink to the whole movie. It does because you have to tell the aftermathe of it past story the present story too.

There wouldn't be as much drama in a ship simply sinking as there was in watching soap opera love and such. Did you know that Cal was Rose's third cousin twice removed?

uh, yeah...it's a movie...it's telling the story, and sometimes the plot exposition takes longer than it actually took the boat to sink.

Actually, if you time it from the point where it hits the iceberg, to where the bow slips under, it takes about 1 hour and 4 minutes.

yes it has to be because most of what they showed was happening at the same time and you can't show that many things at once on one screen.
