From the point of fertilization until 8 weeks gestation it is an embryo. Only after 8 weeks gestation is it considered a fetus.
Science will freeze and dispose of embryos during invetro fertilization- does that mean that embryos aren't human??

I believe the fertilized egg becomes "human" as soon as the egg and sperm join. And I just wanted to add, in the Bible there is a reference to the spirit entering the body at quickening. Quickening is when the baby first moves at about 18 or so weeks.

Your question is very unusual and challenging- its both sociological, medical and theological.
Once the egg is fertilized, from one single cell, it starts rapidly diving into 2, 4, 8, etc. In a matter of hours, you have a formation with more than thousand cells. On top of that, baby's gender and all his/ her genetic identity is being determined in matter of minutes after fertiliztion.
So, i think we could very safely say that we have a new human being right from the beginning.

I feel like we should treat an embrio as a human however some people think that once the hearbeat is heard then it becomes a human, that should be around the 9th or 10th week.

In my opinion, it's as soon as you conceive. They start developing when you conceive, right? So why wouldn't they be human? Everyone's entitled to their opinion, though.
