as with any vehicle any thing over 7.5 tonne gross weight is classed as an HGV as for running on red diesel if you are driving on a public road in the UK it is illegal.

Anything over 7.5 ton is classed as a LGV/HGV that will make a road sweeper Probably an LGV.
Red diesel is in fact only for agriculture vehicles IE farm vehicles, they do run on public roads, have you ever been stuck behind a tractor on a public road, there is your answer.

road sweeper are heavy goods vehicle.
How ever it is illegal to run any red diesel in any vehicle on the road... off road fuel only
red fuel is not taxed

red diesel is called "Off Road Diesel " so nope you cant is is just meant for heavy equipment and farm equipment stuff that doesnt use the roads

not even all articulated trucks are classed as hgv - some can be plg.
